Celebrate the Holidays at The Wharf
Although this year's holiday season looks different than the past, it still promises good times focused on family, friends, and the joy we share. The Wharf is here to make your holidays as special as ever with elegant dining options, one-of-a-kind shopping destinations, and a slate of fun holiday activities.
The Wharf Christmas Tree arrived this week, and is already standing 45 feet tall on District Pier. We will decorate the tree throughout the week and light it on November 27, officially kicking off the holiday season on the waterfront. Bring your family for photos with the tree on District Pier, then dine-in or take-out a special holiday meal from one of our restaurants.
We're also excited to announce Holiday Movies at The Wharf! We've transformed Transit Pier into an outdoor movie theater with private firepits, a snack and drink bar, and all of your favorite holiday movies. Check out the full list of movies and showtimes and reserve a firepit now. While you're at the show, don't miss the row of stockings, hung with care by each of the shops and restaurants at The Wharf.
If you prefer roasting s'mores over the firepit, visit Camp Wharf, a beautifully restored Airstream trailer sellling marshmallows, chocolate, and graham crackers next to The Wharf's wood-burning firepit in District Square. This scenic Wharf spot is reopening on Friday, Saturday, and Sunday afternoons and evenings from November 27-January 10 with additional safety protocols in place.
As in past years, every evening from December 10-18, we will Light the Menorah in District Square to celebrate Hanukkah, the Festival of Lights. For a simple way to to spice up any of your holiday celebrations, consider takeout, delivery, and catering from your favorite Wharf restaurants.
Finally, we regret to share that due to the District of Columbia's COVID-19 limitations, the 2020 District's Holiday Boat Parade is canceled and The Wharf Ice Rink will not open during the 2020-2021 winter season. We are disappointed to miss these annual waterfront traditions, and we already look forward to welcoming you back in November 2021 for ice skating, and on December 4, 2021 for next year's Holiday Boat Parade.
Be safe and healthy, and enjoy the most wonderful time of the year!
